Ostrava Airport launches new flight route to Warsaw, resumes flight route to Prague

5. 11. 2020

On Sunday 25 October 2020 a new flight route connecting Ostrava to Warsaw was launched. While operated by Polish Airlines LOT, this flight connection offers early arrival at Warsaw airport which allows passengers quick transfer to follow-up flights around Europe, such as flights to Amsterdam, Munich, Paris, Zurich, Milan, Geneva, Oslo, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and many more.

Ivo Vondrák, the Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, comments on the news as follows:

"I am glad that the Moravian-Silesian Region and Ostrava Airport have managed to convince a major air carrier that the parameters, equipment and location of the Ostrava Airport make it a good place for regular flights. We need such flight to connect Ostrava to an important international transport hub; one that will improve the transport accessibility of our region. This is the only way to keep current investors in the region and attract new ones. Thanks to this flight connection it could be also easier to revitalize our region economically following the COVID-19 pandemic.”

In addition to this new connection to Warsaw, the Polish carrier LOT is also renewing its flights from Ostrava to Prague. For now, it is only a temporary connection and how long the route lasts will be affected by a number of factors, including the development of the pandemic situation, demand for flying and passengers’ interest in using this connection while traveling to the capital city. The line launches on 11 November 2020 and will fly 5 times a week. The ticket price should start at 770,00 CZK.
