Regional winner of entrepreneur and self-employed person of the year are manufacturer of workout playgrounds and organic farmer

Few people probably doubt that the Moravian-Silesian Region is one of the most important industrial areas in the country. The chemical or pharmaceutical industry and, for example, manufacture of transport equipment are developing significantly in the region. In addition, the decline in some areas is richly offset by the dexterity of local small and medium-sized businesses and sole proprietors. This was clearly shown in the results of this year's regional round of the Vodafone Firma roku 2020 and MONETA Živnostník roku 2020 business competitions.

Martin Petrek from MONETA Money Bank, the expert jury in the Moravian-Silesian Region, was amazed by the farmer Kamil Kublák. He commented on the jury’s winner:

"Mr Kublák was my favourite contestant. I liked his work, the fact that he has devoted himself to it for many years. I also appreciate that he sells his products and places them in schools and nearby restaurants. He also sells products that come from small farmers to help them get their goods to a wider range of customers.”

WORKOUT CLUB PARKS, a manufacturer of workout playgrounds, has made a great impression among the companies. Pavel Balon from Vodafone Czech Republic, a member of the jury, said more about the winning company:

"We were particularly impressed by the company's original design and the fact that they have its own manufacturing process, so they truly make a unique product. In addition to quality, original design and diversity of products, they are also undoubtedly different from others in the competition thanks to their approach to business. At the same time, by enabling them to carry out leisure activities in established playgrounds the company influences the lives of teenagers and children.”

In each region, the winner of the ‘Vodafone Odpovědná firma roku 2020‘ category is also announced. This prize is awarded by Vodafone Czech Republic in cooperation with the Vodafone Foundation. In the Moravian-Silesian Region, ZEBRA SYSTEMS was declared a winner in this category.

Program Manager of the Vodafone Foundation in the Czech Republic Jan Fencl commented on the winner of this category as follows:

"In the area of socially beneficial activities, Zebra Systems supports, among other institutions, the University Hospital in Ostrava and Hradec Králové as well as the charity football tournament Sport Hradec Cup. At the global level, they support the Acronis Foundation which focuses on education and school construction in many developing countries. They also contribute to protecting the environment by using its own photovoltaics, including battery storage.”

This year a completely new category has emerged: ‘MONETA Živnostník roku Srdcař‘. The winner of this category is described as one who has overcome problems or various pitfalls in business but did not give up and continues to work. Pavel Flachs received this award in Ostrava.
