The sector of business services in Ostrava expands thanks to Devoteam

The sector of business services is one of the fastest growing industries in the Czech Republic. In terms of a particular region, this sector represents not only investment opportunities, but it also supports employment of a skilled workforce. Although there are several similar centres in the Moravian-Silesian Region, there is considerable room for growth, as confirmed by the Association of Business Services Leaders (ABSL). The regional joint-stock company Moravian-Silesian Investment and Development (MSID) focuses on addressing companies from this sector as a part of our activities related to the development of the investment environment.

"The M-S region is full of great potential in terms of attracting and subsequently setting up companies in the business services sector. We are working to make the available options accessible to domestic as well as foreign key players who are looking for the best possible location for the realization of their business activities," said Tomáš Kolárik, statutory director of the company MSID, while adding that one of the tasks of his team is to dispel old myths and prejudices often associated with the Moravian-Silesian Region, or Ostrava in particular.

Recently, this sector has succeeded thanks to the expansion of the French company Devoteam, which has now from 1 February 2020, in addition to Prague, been also working and gradually expanding its team in Ostrava.

Devoteam, a global company with more than 7,000 experts located in eighteen countries across the world, offers to guide companies and their employees through a digital transformation process.

Devoteam has started building the International Center of Excellence (ICE) in Ostrava, where they focus on the implementation of the ServiceNow system in the IT Service Management sector as well as in the business areas such as HR, Customer Service Management or Cyber Security. The Ostrava branch will primarily specialize in the Managed Services, otherwise known as the monitoring center for resolving possible incidents. Earlier in 2020, Devoteam received the status of an elite ServiceNow partner for the EMEA region.

What is more, Devoteam is a company that places great emphasis on education. Through specialized programs, they are now going one step further in their efforts and provide even those who are not yet their employees with a training of technical skills that are needed today in order to succeed in the job market.

"Thanks to our ServiceNow Reskilling Program we provide people with an opportunity that they would not otherwise receive and that allows them to work with advanced technologies such as ServiceNow. The program is designed to include both theoretical and practical tasks," says Jakub Hýl, who takes care of the establishment of Devoteam’s branch offices in Ostrava.

Graduates of this three-week training will be able to manage and maintain the ServiceNow cloud platform as certified administrators. In addition, they can receive a job offer from the company.
