Aludyne production plant will employ 350 people in Ostrava making components for motor vehicles

28. 11. 2019

Yesterday, Aludyne launched production of aluminium components in its new production plant at Contera Park Ostrava City. The site covers almost 15 000 m2, of which around 2 000 m2 is used as office space.

Aludyne is planning to enlarge the plant; when the expansion is complete, the company will employ around 350 people in Ostrava. Vacancies are available for production operatives (requiring a basic level of education) as well as shift managers, CNC technicians, robot programmers, maintenance technicians, quality technicians for the metallurgical laboratory, 3D measurement technicians, and process engineers for casting and machining (these jobs require secondary or higher education depending on the position). Aludyne decided to build a plant in Ostrava due to the qualified labour force available in the region as well as the excellent commercial conditions and very high technical standards offered by the location and the ability to complete work on the plant within the required timeframe.

Aludyne is currently the leading global producer of aluminium frames for motor vehicles. Its customers include automotive giants such as Daimler, Volkswagen, Honda, BMW, Ford and Volvo.

Deputy Regional Governor Jan Krkoška welcomed the investment: “I’m delighted that we have once again succeeded against some very tough competition, and that Aludyne has chosen the Moravian-Silesian Region as the location for its new investment. Ostrava and the entire Region is one of the three key development poles of the Czech Republic. We have excellent infrastructure and a strategic location at the meeting-point of three countries. We are close to our main customers, and we offer an excellent, well-qualified labour force. I’m particularly pleased about the company’s plans to cooperate with Ostrava’s technical university, offering graduates a wide range of job opportunities plus the chance to gain experience of working abroad – which they will then be able to apply to help the Region’s development in the future.”

Contera Partner and Managing Director Dušan Kastl expressed his satisfaction: “We’re pleased that our clients are prospering and that we can offer them the opportunity to expand as part of our portfolio. We’re also delighted that our Contera Park Ostrava City has been chosen by a range of manufacturing, logistics and warehousing companies, creating jobs for many people.” Consultant Colliers International was responsible for ensuring that Aludyne’s requirements were met in full and that the project as a whole was successfully completed.
