Brownfields in the MS Region received more support

MSID analysed the success of municipalities in applying for subsidies for brownfields. And how did the municipalities perform last year compared to the years 2018 and 2019?

In the second half of 2020, an analysis was carries out, such that addressed the troubles of municipalities from the MS Region when applying for subsidies for brownfields. The municipalities themselves also contributed to the data collection and their feedback revealed several obstacles, problems, and other reasons why they failed in their application. Subsequently, the analysed data, together with the proposed measures, were presented to the appropriate institutions in order to increase the success of the Moravian-Silesian municipalities.

We used the same approach when it comes to the data from 2020 and found out that the success of municipalities in applying has increased greatly and the amount of support for municipalities in the MS Region is many times higher. Brownfields for business use were supported by more than CZK 47 million compared to previous years and brownfields for non-business use were even supported by more than CZK 114 million.

There has also been a noticeable change in the interest concerning the programme for creating studies and analyses which address the options of utilization of selected brownfields. In contrast to the previous years, when there was no applicant from the MS Region, this time both of MSID’s selected brownfields were supported by the programme.
