Company P3 will build new commercial and industrial district in Ostrava-Vítkovice

23. 10. 2020

The agreement to purchase 40 ha of land has been made between the developer company P3 and the current owners of the area, Vítkovice, a.s., and VTK NCA, a.s. Tomáš Míček, who is the Director of P3 for the Czech Republic and was born in the Silesian region, comments on the sale as follows:

"We have a unique opportunity to bring the place back to life after it was a part of Ostrava’s acclaimed history as the industrial heart of our country. It will be an extraordinary investment and in the field of industrial development something exceptional will be built. I strongly believe that we will be able to revive the industrial zone in a sustainable manner while we naturally ensure the visual interconnectedness of the area of Vítkovice and the nearby city center.”

Rodan Broskevič, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vítkovice, a.s., has confirmed the sale while also stating that their aim was to find an investor with a good proposal, which has now been achieved.

Due to the area’s location, which is situated near the historic city center, the city’s architect has been already invited to the first design proposals of the new complex. However, behind the original design of the intended Ostrava P3 park is David Kotek from Projektstudio.

"While we respect the orthogonal units that Josef Pleskot drew up for the area of Dolní Vítkovice, we also add the missing urban structure when designing this business park. We try to preserve as much from the industrial architecture as possible, but at the same time we want to work with green facades and sustainable materials. I am proud that a complex which is exemplary ambitious when it comes to both urban planning and architecture will be built there,” says architect David Kotek.

The built-up area will make 16 ha from a total area of 40 ha. Therefore, the park will rank among the largest industrial and logistic complexes in the region. The units for lease will range from 1,500 m2 to 35,000 m2 and it will be possible to alter their shape flexibly.

The construction is expected to begin at the end of 2021 and the final completion of the industrial commercial park can be expected in the middle of this decade.
